Agency Affiliated Counselor Fee Increase.

29 Jun 2014 5:33 PM | Anonymous

State law requires each profession to support its own administrative costs. Fees must cover the costs to administer and regulate the profession, including reserves for unexpected expenses.

The department must raise fees when it projects the costs of regulating a profession to exceed the revenue it expects to receive from licensing fees.

The department reviewed the current revenue and expenses to determine how much of a fee increase was needed.  The new fees for Agency Affiliated Counselors (AAC) are:

         * Initial Credential Fee:  $60  (was $50)
         * Renewal Credential Fee:  $50  (was $40)

Registrations that expire on or after July 1, 2014 will require the new fee.  Registrations that expire before this date will have the old renewal fee.

All applications or renewals received on or after July 1, 2014, regardless of expiration date, must include the new fee.  If you fail to provide the updated fee, it may delay the issuance or renewal of a credential.
